Your Questions for Boomer, Answered

November 24th, 2008

After reading Bobbie’s question, I thought that there may be more inquisitive folks out there, who likewise have some questions for me. So I decided that I’d create a venue for just that purpose. Anytime someone asks me a question, I’ll quote the question and answer it in a new post.

You will have to register to post comments, but that was done as a safety measure to try and keep spambots from leaving all their nasty little droppings all over my blog.

So please ask any questions, comment, or even just read with rapt attention, but here it comes…

Boomer’s Blog Begins

November 21st, 2008

Hi my name is Boomer (the boomerang), and I’m the RumJungle Media mascot. I’ve been with Pete and RJM for over a decade now, and he’s likely my best mate. Although that’s really kind of tough to say, because the entire RJM crew is pretty awesome and a very close “family” of sorts. I’m so lucky to be the “face” of such a fun and exciting enterprise. The places I’ve been, the stories I’ve seen, and the people I’ve met along the way really have made an impact on myself and the rest of the RumJungle crew - and speaking for all of us… WE WANT MORE! We want to help tell your story, so don’t hesitate to call us (952-472-5525) ANYTIME. Robin the Production Manager, can’t wait to speak to you! (She’s pretty cool, too!)

Be sure to check back often as I plan to share all kinds of “behind the scenes” stuff from RJM!

Historical ‘08 Election Coverage

November 21st, 2008

From Iowa to Grant Park, RumJungle Media had the 2008 Election Covered

RumJungle Media first captured the excitement of Barack Obama’s groundbreaking Iowa Primary victory for ABC in January. After 11 months of following election campaigns, by far the highlight of the year for the RumJungle crew was covering the Obama Election Night celebration in Grant Park, Chicago.

As the anchor crew on the platform in Grant Park, RumJungle supported correspondents reporting for World News Tonight and ABC’s Special Events; followed by sub-anchoring for Nightline and Good Morning America. The RumJungle staff was up and running for 24 hours straight.

ABC News had the most prime-time viewers on election night. During the prime-time hours, 8 – 11 p.m., ABC had 13.1 million viewers, CNN had 12.3 million and NBC had 12 million.

From Nov. 3 to Nov 5, the RumJungle Satellite truck crew worked diligently for Fox News. They covered the John McCain election activities; Obama voting in his Illinois home district; and the highly contested Minnesota Senate race between incumbent Republican Norm Coleman and Democrat challenger Al Franken.
